How does it work in your country. When you are looking to buy a house in NZ you often go to “open Houses” or “open to view” times. This is when the agent advertises 30 minutes or so slot when you can come and walk through the house.
Top tip: if you are doing this a lot you will find that you often have to take your shoes off – so don’t wear shoes with laces!
I think it’s a great system – it minimizes disruption for the seller, and means you can see houses that you aren’t very interested in without calling arranging a private viewing with the agent.
We are going to see the house of my obsession at the beach for a second time tomorrow. There is an open home and I’ve VERY curious to see how many other people come.
Plus there is a house down the street that I’m not interested in at all – except to compare the level of interest in it and get a feel for how confident the market is in this area.
I must admit sometimes I go to open homes just because I’m passing and the house looks cool! They are also a great source of renovation inspiration.
